ORION KNIVES - A New Kid on the Block!!!

There is a new custom knife maker on the scene, their knives are quite impressive. The following is a description of the operation:

Orion Knives is a dedicated maker of handcrafted sporting knives for the outdoorsman who knows the value of quality equipment. With over 20 years experience in blade fabrication, grinding, and finishing, Orion Knives uses only the finest materials to produce our knives. We offer a variety of handles in manmade materials, hardwoods and natural antlers and each knife comes with a natural pouch-style leather sheath. Our knives are backed by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. No matter where your next outdoor adventure takes you, our classic knives will feel like an old friend, never leaving your side!

Orion Knives is a small, eight-person operation located in Coopersville, Michigan, about 20 minutes northwest of Grand Rapids and close to the shores of Lake Michigan. Orion’s roots are in a company called Reid Tool Design, a business run by Jeff Cothery, which has been making specialty hand tools and industrial cutting tools since the early 1960’s. Reid has also been grinding knife blades for a few different knife makers for a number of years now as well. With that kind of background, it seemed only natural that they try their hand at the knife market themselves and in 2006 Orion Knives was born.

Check out some of their knives:

Gerber Slate Assisted Folding Knives W/ Implements

Gerber Knives has created two new players in the “all in one” handy pocketknife. These fast opening folding pocket knives also have two screw drivers and a bottle opener in the handle. The great thing about these folding knives is that the extra tools don’t add extra thickness to the piece. These pocket knives are handy and inexpensive and reasonably well made.
